Ok, again y'all, I have found something that looks oh so cool, but I am clueless! Has anyone heard of Loquendo tts or for the mobile phones? I'm not even sure how to buy it, but it's brilliant! You can make the voices laugh and cough; how fun! Simo, the UK English is my fave so far. Does anyone have further info? Does anyone own them?

these are commercial voices for telephony applications that cost well in to the thousands to get ahold of. Even then, they would only work on server call center systems.

Actually, this speech engine is sold by Codefactory to work with the mobile speak pocket product. I don't know how much it is but I would thinkk probably 40 per voice but not sure. it sounds grat and I did run a demo on my PDA.

I've got some on my computer and there great. Think you can bget them from a company called quolilife or something but i dunno how much they cost.
I heard the demos and thought they were good, how do you make them laugh and stuff like that?; o and do they work with talks? BEN.

Hey, how'd you get them on your computer? You type things like _laugh_01 _cry_01. I'm not sure what the numbers mean. They can cry, laugh, yawn, cough, and more, that I don't know. What is that company called again?

Hmm. I thought the voices only worked with QualiLife's products only?

What is qualilife? Is it offiliated with enablemart? Ya know, I'm not sure about talks, I saw loquendo metnioned on mobilespeak, but they weren't detailed about it. Lol, or least I didn't get the full gist.

qualilife has nothing to do with enablemart. They offer products for mostly the physically disabled, but some of their products will allow a blind person to do things like use a tv guide.

Hmmm bummer. That says you can download a 30-day trial, but mine didn't work. I tried it with both window eyes and jaws. It said something like the licence wasn't valid for this computer. Weird.

Strange, it worked for me.
Add me to my msn if you want a hand.

Hi,
the loquendo synthesizers can be used with Jaws too
Sorry that I am late to write the post...
Well, I know here in italy they are sold by a company called VoiceSystems (I do not think they have the english site, I do not remember to have seen it)
they sell Italian voices, it costs 260 euro the first voice with USB dongle, then 100 euro each additional voice
too expensive!
They work with standard Sapi5 driver.
But I am not sure they sell English voices too
At the end of November I should go there, to an exposition where they show their products
well,
on www.qualilife.com, product, tts voices, there are some smaller versions of Loquendo voices but they just work with qualispeak product, just for 30 day trial
I heard some nasty guys playing with them illegally but I am not interested in how to do that
